Privacy policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
Orthophonie VoxLingue Speech and Language (“VoxLingue”, “we”, “us”) is a private speech-language pathology clinic based in Montréal, Quebec. We respect your privacy and protect your personal information in accordance with Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as amended by Law 25) and, where it applies, Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website, www.voxlingue.com, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, who we share it with and what your rights are. It covers the website only. Information in your clinical file is handled under the rules of our professional orders (OOAQ in Quebec, CASLPO in Ontario), and your clinician explains them when you begin services.

What we collect and why
We collect only the information we need, for the purposes described here. We do not sell or rent personal information.
When you send us a request through the contact form
We collect your name, email address and, if you choose, your phone number; who the request is for (a child, a teen or an adult); how you would like to meet (in person or by telepractice); your preferred language; and your message. If you tick the career box, we collect the information you choose to share about your background.
We use this information only to answer your request, to plan a first appointment if you wish, or to consider your career inquiry. Please do not include medical or diagnostic details in the form: your clinician will discuss them with you directly.
When you subscribe to our newsletter
We collect your email address and the language of the page where you subscribed. We use them to send you our newsletter. You confirm your subscription by email, and you can unsubscribe at any time with the link at the bottom of every issue.
When you visit the website
To deliver the website and protect it against abuse, our hosting and security provider processes technical information such as your IP address, your browser type and the pages you request. Our spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile) checks, without a puzzle in most cases, that a form is sent by a person and not a bot.
Cookies and similar technologies
- Without your consent, we use no cookies for analytics or advertising. We store your cookie choice in your browser so we don’t ask you again. Our hosting provider may use strictly necessary security cookies.
- Only if you click “Accept” in our cookie banner, we load Google Analytics and the Google Ads tag. They use cookies to measure how the website is used (for example, pages viewed and whether a contact form was sent or a phone number was clicked) and the results of our advertising. These technologies are turned off by default, as Quebec law requires.
- You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie preferences” at the bottom of every page.
Videos
Our introduction video is hosted on YouTube. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play; it then plays in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, and YouTube’s privacy policy applies.
Consent
By sending a form, you consent to the collection and use of the information you provide for the purposes described above. Consent for analytics and advertising cookies is asked separately, through the cookie banner. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting our person in charge of the protection of personal information, by unsubscribing from the newsletter, or through “Cookie preferences”.
Children. Our services are often for children, but requests are made by a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 14 through the website. For a child under 14, consent is given by the person having parental authority or the tutor.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the website, and only what they need for their task. They act on our behalf, under contracts that require them to protect the information and use it only for the services they provide to us.

Information processed outside Quebec
Some of our providers store or process information outside Quebec, mainly in the United States. Before communicating personal information outside Quebec, we assess whether it will receive adequate protection, including through a privacy impact assessment, and we put written agreements in place. Information processed in another country may be subject to that country’s laws.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes for which it was collected, then we destroy it or anonymize it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
- Contact requests: as long as needed to answer and follow up on your request. If you become a client, the relevant information becomes part of your client file, which we keep for the periods required by our professional orders.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Analytics data: for no more than 14 months.
- Technical and security logs: for a short period, as needed to operate and protect the website.
How we protect information
We use reasonable physical, technical and administrative safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, spam and abuse protection, and limiting access to the people who need it. Our website does not keep personal information in its logs. No method is perfectly secure, but we take care to protect your information and to review our practices.
If a confidentiality incident occurs, we keep a register of incidents and, when an incident presents a risk of serious injury, we notify the Commission d’accès à l’information and the people concerned, as the law requires.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy;
- Correct information that is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous;
- Withdraw your consent to the use or communication of your information;
- Ask us to stop disseminating your information or to de-index it, in the cases provided by law;
- Receive information you provided to us in a structured, commonly used technological format, and have it transferred to a person or organization you choose;
- Be informed of the information used to make any decision based exclusively on automated processing (we make no such decisions through this website).
To exercise a right, write to our person in charge of the protection of personal information (see above). We may ask you to confirm your identity. We will respond within 30 days.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your personal information, please contact our person in charge of the protection of personal information first; we will review it and answer you. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec (www.cai.gouv.qc.ca) or, if you live outside Quebec, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (www.priv.gc.ca).
Links to other websites
Our website links to other sites, such as Instagram and Facebook. Their own privacy policies apply, and we are not responsible for their practices.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example when our services or the law change. We will post the new version on this page with a new “Last updated” date and, for significant changes, display a notice on the website.
